The biggest upgrade to MLP 2.5 is the change behind the scenes in how it saves your data on the disk. The new file system allows portfolios to open faster, keeps your data more secure, and is much more resilient to corruption in the event of a power failure or abnormal termination.
Pictured, MLP 2.5 is running with a portfolio which has a loan and some payments. The full set of templates has been copied in and some peculiar side-effects have appeared, presumably as a result of the change from .NET 1.1 to .NET 4.0. The program does seem to run a little bit faster, but that's probably mostly because I hardly have any data in my test portfolio.
Also picture, some fairly awful mixing of old and new components: the old "list of loans" and status bar with a new tool strip. Most of the user interface will probably have to be overhauled a little bit to bring it up to current standards.
The program is actually "operational" though, which is much better than I thought it would be at this stage of development. Fingers crossed that the remaining development of MLP 2.5 will go as smoothly!
Also, you might have noticed this page doesn't look like the rest of moneylenderprofessional.com. The site will be getting a redesign at part of the transition to MLP2.5!
